A storyteller with a story

Born and raised in Indianapolis, Jade Jackson’s journey in news started at Ben Davis High School and contributed to her school’s newspaper and broadcast newscasts. Her favorite phrase then was, “what’s the scoop?” when she would gather story ideas.

Jade graduated from the University of North Texas in Denton in December 2018. She’s completed over seven internships, including being a summer news reporting intern with WFAA-8 in Dallas and CBS 11 in Fort Worth. She anchored DTV News Break for the City of Denton while concurrently performing PR work as the communications intern for the Denton County Transportation Authority.

While in school, she was a reporter and anchor for Emmy award winning, NTTV Nightly News where she broke national stories surrounding her campus. She was also a minority beat writer for the UNT chapter of Her Campus Magazine. She’s been a contributor to her school’s NTDaily print publication, and has interned for Denton Radio. Off campus she contributed to The Dentonite, her community's alternative news source for the city. She’s a member of the National Association for Black Journalists and the Ida B. Wells Society.

When she’s not reporting news, Jade enjoys eating and sleeping.
